How CEREC Can Help You Fall in Love with Veneers This Valentine’s Day

Friday, February 12th, 2016

4487372_blogIt’s Valentine’s weekend and love is in the air! If you’re eager to spend this year’s special day beaming from ear to ear, why not treat yourself to some stunning CEREC veneers?

CEREC is an innovative form of dental technology that enables us to offer same-day restorative and cosmetic treatment. If you thought you’d have to wait for weeks to enjoy incredible results, think again! Thanks to CEREC, we can now design, create and fit brand new veneers all in the same day, so you’ll be ready to showcase those beautiful pearly whites without delay.

How does CEREC work?

Traditionally, when you have restorative treatment, we create impressions of your teeth and these are sent away to a laboratory and then converted into brand new restorations by skilled technicians and returned to us. The process takes around two weeks. With CEREC, we are able to do everything on site, which means no waiting around, no temporary restorations or putty moulds and no repeat appointments.

CEREC takes care of the design and manufacturing processes and once these are complete, we fit the newly-created bespoke veneers. CEREC technology converts photographs of the teeth into 3D models, which are then sent to the milling machine. This advanced technology takes just minutes to produce new restorations. We are able to use CEREC to make custom-designed veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays.

If you like the sound of instant results, a painless and simple process and a brand new, beaming smile for Valentine’s Day, call us now and book a consultation!

Modern Tooth Restorations

Sunday, September 20th, 2015

805589_blogAlthough your teeth are made of sturdy stuff, they can be susceptible to damage, injury and decay and this is when restorative treatment comes in handy. Restorations are used to strengthen and repair the teeth, enhancing the function of the tooth and often providing aesthetic benefits. If you have a chipped, broken or worn down tooth, your dentist will be able to find the perfect solution!

Modern tooth restorations

Like most areas of dentistry, restorative dentistry is advancing all the time and modern tooth restorations are a far cry from treatments of old. Today, it is almost always possible to repair a damaged tooth, rather than remove it and treatment can make a real difference to oral health, as well as the look of the smile. Examples of modern restorative treatments include:

Fillings: fillings are used to treat tooth decay and the aim of treatment is to fill a cavity to prevent infection from spreading and make the tooth stronger. Today, white fillings, which are made from dental composite and resins, are very popular, as they restore the tooth invisibly. White fillings usually last up to 5 years.

Crowns: crowns are designed to strengthen decayed and damaged teeth; they are commonly made from ceramics, including porcelain, to provide a seamless aesthetic and they last around 5-10 years. A crown is custom-made to fit over the tooth perfectly and it is sometimes known as a cap, as it sits on the tooth. Crown treatment usually involves 2 sessions 2 weeks apart; however, it is possible to get same-day crowns using Cerec technology. You may be advised to have a new crown if you have a severely decayed tooth, your tooth is infected and you have had root canal treatment or the tooth is fractured.

Dental bridges: dental bridges are a popular treatment for missing teeth; they are often used to replace a single tooth and are most commonly made from a false tooth and a crown on either side. Bridges can be made from metals and ceramics and porcelain is a popular choice because it matches the shade of the natural teeth around the gap. Bridgework usually involves 2 sessions and a bridge should last up to 15 years.

Inlays and onlays: inlays and onlays are often described as the middle ground between fillings and crowns; they may be recommended when damage is too extensive for a filling, but not severe enough for a crown. Inlays are placed inside the tooth, while onlays also cover the biting cusps on the outside of the tooth.

Amazing CEREC Treatment

Thursday, August 6th, 2015

4207449_blogIf you’re looking for an amazing treatment in the centre of Leeds, look no further than CEREC. CEREC technology has revolutionised restorative dentistry, giving us the opportunity to offer our clients same day bespoke treatment.

What is CEREC and what’s so good about it?

CEREC is a form of CAD/CAM technology that enables us to create and fit new restorations such as veneers, inlays, onlays and crowns in one day. Usually, the treatment process for new restorations takes around two weeks as the restorations are made in a dental laboratory by skilled technicians. With CEREC, we can create the new restorations on site.

CEREC treatment involves three key stages. The first stage is to design the restoration using advanced imaging software. We take photographs of the teeth and use the software to convert them into 3D images. Theses images act as templates. The second stage is the manufacturing process, which occurs when the images are sent to the milling machine. This machine works quickly to turn visual templates into tangible new restorations. The final stage is to fit the new restoration.

CEREC offers us many advantages, including:

  • Vastly reduced treatment times (from two weeks to just one day!)
  • No need for temporary restorations
  • Increased accuracy
  • No need to make putty moulds, which can be uncomfortable for those with a sensitive gag reflex
  • Versatility – we can use CEREC to create a range of restorations, such as veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays

If you would like to find out more about the amazing benefits of CEREC treatment, don’t hesitate to call us.

About CEREC

CEREC technology has changed the face of restorative dentistry and we are proud to offer same-day restorative treatment in the centre of Leeds. If you thought you had to wait weeks for a new crown, think again!

With CEREC, we can design, create and fit brand new custom-designed restorations in a single day, vastly reducing treatment time and ensuring that you can enjoy the benefits of treatment immediately.

Cerec: Fast Treatment for Long Lasting Results

Saturday, May 9th, 2015

iStock_000005654093SmallWe understand that many of our patients have busy lives and we are always on the lookout for modern treatments that minimise stress, hassle and treatment times. Cerec is a revolutionary form of technology that dramatically reduces the time it takes to complete restorative treatment. With Cerec, we can design, manufacture and place brand new bespoke restorations in just one day!

What is Cerec?

Cerec is a form of technology that enables us to complete every stage of the restorative treatment process in a single day on site. Usually, if you need a new crown for example, your dentist will make an impression of your tooth. The impression then sent away to a dental laboratory before the crown is then made by a dental technician and returned to the clinic around two weeks later. With Cerec, we are able to design, make and fit the new crown in a single treatment session.

Cerec technology takes care of all the key phases of treatment and we can do everything at the clinic, rather than sending impressions away. The first stage of treatment involves taking photographs of the teeth, which are then converted into detailed templates using Cerec. These templates are used to design the bespoke restoration. The designs are then sent to the on-site milling machine, which is responsible for making the restoration. Once this stage is complete, your dentist will then fit the new restoration and you can enjoy your new smile.

The advantages of Cerec

The most obvious advantage of Cerec is the speed of treatment. A process that can take two to three weeks can now be completed in one day. Patients only have to make one appointment, there’s no need for temporary restorations and time in the dental chair is greatly reduced – excellent news for nervous patients. Dentists also have more control over the design stage of treatment and the manufacturing process is more accurate.

If you’re in need of a new crown, inlay, onlays or veneers, call today and you could soon be enjoying the benefits of Cerec for yourself!

With this amazingly innovative technology, we are able to offer hassle-free, bespoke, same-day restorative treatment.

What exactly is CEREC?

CEREC is a form of technology that enables dentists to create same-day restorations on-site. Usually, when a patient needs a new crown, this requires separate appointments to make an impression and then fit the crown two weeks later when it has been made by dental technicians and then returned to the clinic. With CEREC, we design, manufacture and fit the new restoration in a single session an there’s no need for impressions or anything to be sent away; everything is done here and you can enjoy instant results.

CEREC converts camera images of the teeth into detailed models, which are sent to the on-site milling machine. After just a couple of minutes, the manufacturing process is complete and we can then fit the restoration. We are able to make veneers, dental crowns, inlays and onlays with CEREC.

What are the advantages of CEREC?

One of the most obvious advantages of Cerec is the reduced speed of treatment. Processes that usually take two weeks can now be completed in just a single day. There’s no waiting around, no send away and no putty impressions. There’s also no need for temporary restorations, as the new crown or inlay can be fitted immediately. The process is also much more accurate and much less messy. Dentists also have more influence over the design of the new restoration and patients can enjoy the convenience of booking one afternoon off, rather than two or three separate sessions.

We Offer A Range Of Treatments For Damaged Or Broken Teeth

Sunday, November 23rd, 2014

585986_blogDental injuries, accidents and daily wear and tear can all take their toll on your teeth, but if you need restorative treatment or a replacement for a missing tooth, you’ve come to the right place. We cat patch up worn, chipped or broken teeth or find the perfect tooth replacement treatment for a missing tooth in no time.

Treatments for damaged and broken teeth

We have an array of restorative treatments available to cater for all your dental needs. Whether you’ve chipped a tooth on a humbug, you’ve broken your tooth playing sport or you’ve lost a tooth in an accident, we have the best solutions out there and we will have you smiling with confidence before you know it.

For chipped teeth, there are various options. Veneers are a popular choice for anyone who is looking for a glamorous smile, while composite bonding is a great treatment for those who are looking for a simple, quick and affordable fix. This treatment involves using dental composite, the material used for white fillings, to fill in chips, add more height to worn surfaces and make weakened teeth stronger. The procedure takes an hour, there’s no pain involved and you can enjoy the benefits immediately. If your tooth is weak as a result of a cavity, we can fill the tooth to make it stronger; treatment takes less than an hour and we use local anaesthetic to prevent discomfort.

If your tooth is broken and the damage is too extensive for a filling or bonding, we may recommend an inlay or onlay or a crown. Inlays and onlays are usually referred to as the middle ground between fillings and crowns and they are colour matched for a flawless finish. Crowns are used very commonly for broken teeth and they can also be used to strengthen infected and decayed teeth. Crowns are positioned over the top of the tooth to make it stronger; they are made from various materials, including ceramics, such as porcelain, so they can blend in with the natural teeth.

Treatments for missing teeth

We also offer dentures, dental bridges and dental implants for patients with missing teeth. Call us today if you’re in need of restorative work and we can help you decide which is the best solution for you.

What is Cerec?

Cerec is a form of technology, which enables us to create and fit brand new, custom-made restorations on-site. With this technology, we are able to offer same-day treatment for patients in need of a new crown, inlay, onlay or veneers.

Cerec uses the latest software and manufacturing processes to design and make bespoke restorations in a matter of minutes, enabling us to complete your restorative treatment in a single session.

Cerec uses images of the teeth to create detailed 3D templates, which are sent across to the milling machine; these designs are then turned into new restorations in a process that takes seconds.

How is Cerec different?

Cerec treatment is incredibly quick and convenient for both patients and dentists. The usual course of action is to create a mould using dental putty, send this away to a dental laboratory and receive the new restoration around 2 weeks later. With Cerec, the entire process can be completed in a single day, drastically reducing treatment time.

Cerec is also much cleaner and more accurate than traditional techniques and it means that patients do not have to put up with dental putty in their mouth or temporary restorations. Cerecular Spectacular! A Fast New Smile

Monday, May 5th, 2014

iStock_000001998629XSmallWe are proud to offer our clients spectacular new same-day restorations thanks to Cerec. Cerec technology enables patients to enjoy brand new, bespoke restorations in a single visit, so there are no more temporary restorations, no more waiting around and no need for repeat sessions in the dental chair.

All about Cerec

Cerec technology is hugely impressive and innovative and it allows us to design, make and fit brand new crowns, inlays and onlays and veneers on-site, all in the same day. Usually, this process takes much longer, as impressions are sent away to the dental laboratory and then the finished product is returned to the clinic. Typically, it takes around 2 weeks and patients wear temporary restorations in the meantime.

Cerec takes images captured by a camera and converts them into three-dimensional models, which are then sent to the milling machine; this means that the entire design and manufacturing process takes place at the clinic and once the instructions have been received, the milling process takes seconds. We can then fit your new restoration and then you can head home.

Benefits of Cerec

Cerec has so many benefits, it’s hard to know where to start! Treatment time is of course an obvious benefit, as a process that can take 2 weeks can now be completed in a single day. There is also the advantage of not having to use temporary restorations and the process is much cleaner and less invasive, as no putty impressions have to be made. With fewer sessions required patients also need fewer injections.

Cerec also enables greater accuracy and allows dentists and patients to have more control over the design process.
