Are lingual braces really invisible?
Lingual braces are the closest thing you’ll get to invisible treatment; they sit behind the teeth, so they cannot be seen when you smile at all. If you’re desperate for a discreet solution, this is an excellent option.
How do STb Social 6 lingual braces work?
STb Social 6 braces work in a similar way to traditional fixed braces in that they are made of brackets and wires, which generate forces to move the teeth; however, they are much smaller than traditional braces and they employ self-ligating technology to minimise friction.
STb Social 6 braces are specially formulated to target the social 6, the teeth at the front of the mouth. By focusing on these teeth only, treatment times are much shorter than most other systems.
How long will I have to wear braces?
This system is one of the fastest around, with an average treatment time of just 6-16 weeks.
Can I still eat and speak normally with STb Social 6 braces?
As with all braces, it can take a little getting used to wearing lingual braces. For the first couple of days, the braces may be a little uncomfortable and it may feel odd when you eat and talk. It’s a good idea to start with soft foods until you’re used to eating with your braces; we also advise you to practise talking and reading aloud to get you used to talking with your braces.
