Sometimes your smile can let you down because of the way your teeth have fallen into decay. They can with age, start to appear jaded and worn down and prevent you from expressing yourself and your ideas freely. But there are ways to overcome this very quickly in the city of Leeds and get you smiling with confidence once more. One of the easiest ways to do this is to get your teeth fitted with some Lumineers. These are a very thin form of porcelain covering that fit over the surfaces of your teeth and hide away all of your problems, whilst restoring your smile back to what it once was. Your teeth will have to be measured up first and casts taken from which the Lumineers can be made. Then once they have been made and returned to your dentist, they are simply cemented over the enamel of your teeth and then ‘sealed’ into place with a heat lamp. Though exceedingly thin, they get stronger with the use of the cement and can last you many years if you care for them and treat them with respect. Even better, the treatment can be reversed if you so decide to at a later date with no damage to the enamel of your teeth- but you will look amazing while they are in place.

Going for the Lumineer in the City of Leeds
Wednesday, February 13th, 2013Fabulous Lumineers In The City Of Leeds
Wednesday, September 12th, 2012
Lumineers are one of those fabulous creations in the city of Leeds designed to be a quick fix for any problems such as gaps between the teeth, cracks and general wear and tear to the teeth. The are a direct descendant of more common porcelain veneers and made from a specially patented material from the US. What makes these different though is that they are extremely thin in veneer terms and there is a reason for that. Normal veneers require the enamel of the teeth to be removed before fitting- these don’t. The teeth are simply cleaned and then a putty impression is taken from which the fittings can be manufactured. This normally takes a couple of weeks, but once done, they are stuck into position with a cement and then cured with a heat source. They do have their flaws though. Being so thin they can break easily and if they do, they cannot be restored: but this is undermining the point behind Lumineers. They are designed with a quick fix, disposable world in mind and to get your smile up to speed quickly, to get you out of a pickle and into a special occasion, and afterwards, the real ‘plus’ of this treatment is that it can be reversed once the Lumineers have run their course.
Choosing Lumineers for Your Teeth in Central Leeds
Sunday, March 18th, 2012
There are a lot of cosmetic treatments available in central Leeds capable of knocking your teeth into shape, however, there is nothing better for covering up the signs of age than a veneer.
As a rule, the best veneers are always considered to be made of porcelain, but in preparing the teeth they are irreversibly damaged, because the enamel has to be removed from the surface of the teeth.
This tooth enamel damage does not occur with Lumineers.
Lumineers are manufactured out of specially patented porcelain and are very strong- it needs to be too, for it is a lot thinner than the traditional veneer, but still provides the same coverage and strength.
When attaching a Lumineer, the teeth are simply cleaned and the piece cemented over the top of the enamel, meaning that if you decide further down the line to change your mind, the Lumineer can be taken off and the tooth re-polished.
Beautiful Teeth with Lumineers in Leeds
Tuesday, January 3rd, 2012Modern problems that arise in life demand modern answers and all that some of us require at times is a ‘quick fix’ to get us through; the modern world has developed a ‘use it and bin it’ mentality and when we want things, we want them straight away to replace what we have discarded. Now, that’s not to say that the world of dentistry employs this philosophy, but over the past 30 years, it too has adjusted some its treatments that a modern world can place on our teeth, especially the need to look good cosmetically. One of the procedures to come out of the States is the Lumineer, a treatment to cater for the person on the go. It’s a specially patented porcelain covering that is simply cemented onto the surface of the tooth to improve the over all appearance of the smile. Like a traditional veneer, it can cover a multitude of sins on the tooth from discolouring, to cracks and gaps, but unlike its predecessor, it doesn’t do any damage to the enamel of the tooth, meaning that the original surface can be restored if required. Being extremely delicate, the Lumineer lasts for around 5 years, but it is a quick fix with the minimal of hassle to put into place, meaning that once its run its course, you simply ‘bin it’ and get another one fitted, and considering that dentists in the area use CEREC treatment, it means you can get one measured, made and fitted in Leeds in under 2 hours- is that fast enough for you?!
Having lumineer treatment in Leeds
Friday, December 24th, 2010
Every year that goes by, more and more techniques are developed to put the smile back in our mouths and convince us of the benefits of cosmetic dentistry and in Leeds you can see it everywhere you go. We’re constantly bombarded with images of people smiling the ‘perfect’ smile. But now it’s becoming more accessible to all of us and not just those in a poster or on the telly. Teeth do take a battering over time and become stained chipped or cracked and if you work in the public eye all the time, it’s almost become a requirement to look clean cut and confident, and radiating a glamorous smile can reflect that. One of the latest trends is to get lumineers fitted. They aren’t exactly long lasting mind, about 5 years maximum, but to dismiss their shelf life is to dismiss the philosophy behind them; they will restore an incredible sheen to the teeth. They are constructed from a patented porcelain that’s very thin (a third of a normal veneer) and very strong, and this is where they have an advantage over standard veneers when they are fitted. Tooth preparation is minimal- once the imprint has been taken and sent off to be made, the only work that is done to the tooth is a light polishing. None of the original enamel is removed from the tooth and the lumineer is simply bonded straight onto the tooth (making the process reversible) with a light cement and then cured with a heat lamp Normal treatment time is around 2 weeks from imprint to fitting. However, incorporating CEREC methods, the whole process can be done in a single sitting and being comparable in price to other procedures, lumineers are a very attractive option to those of us on the go.
City of Leeds dentists offer smile makeovers with Lumineers
Sunday, November 21st, 2010
Over time the colour of your teeth fades and you may experience gaps in your smile. This is as unavoidable as the greying of hair. But having the perfect smile is vital for boosting self-esteem. New Lumineer veneers can reshape your smile and give you the confidence that a winning smile allows by using the latest patented technology to increase efficiency.
Traditional veneers have offered a solution to those wishing to improve their smile for some time. Lumineers represent a substantial leap in veneer technology. The special cerinate porcelain from which they are constructed adds durability and means that Lumineers are clinically proven to last more than twenty years.
The extra-thin design – Lumineers are comparable in thickness to contact lenses – means that your teeth hardly have to be prepared for their application at all. It is quite possible that none, or very little, of your existing teeth will have to be removed before your Lumineers are fitted. Leaving the natural structure of your tooth intact means that these processes are often reversible too and you will have the flexibility to change your mind.
Whether you suffer from misaligned, stained or crooked teeth Lumineers offer a solution to them all. They can even be installed over existing bridge work or crowns. As all Lumineers must be made from patented cerinate porcelain, only manufactured in the Cerinate Smile Design Studio located in the United States, not all cosmetic dentists can offer them. Ask your City of Leeds dentist today if they are registered to provide you with Lumineers and in just a few appointments you could be on your way to the perfect smile that has been delighting Americans for so many years.

What exactly is a Lumineer? A City of Leeds dentist explains
Thursday, July 22nd, 2010
A Lumineer is a veneer by any other name, but a veneer with a modern twist to it, says a City of Leeds dentist. They come so thin that the usual work needed to prepare a tooth for a veneer, isn’t necessary. The problem with veneers is that they simply replace the enamel remove that is taken off a tooth to allow an adhesion. That can cause problems later on when you want to replace the veneer with new technology; you see a veneer is not reversible. The thing with very thin veneers is that they don`t last long as they are so thin, they simply wear away as all things do. The thickness of a veneer is necessary because of the problem it is solving, that could be anything from a cracked, chipped, misaligned or discoloured tooth and it also needs to last a long time. With a Lumineer the thickness problem is solved by the new formula used to make the veneer, this allows it to be ultra thin and therefore more flexible. With no preparation as such needed, and with longevity of some 20 years, they are the perfect choice for any patient. They can also be lifted off at any time to do other work on the tooth, and then simply replaced. There are no after affects either as the usual planning of the enamel is not done, the veneer is simply cemented in place in minutes. This means that the cost is also down as not so much work is involved, all in all a good alternative to conventional veneers.
Lumineer’s and how they work. By a City of Leeds dentist
Monday, July 19th, 2010
Veneers have been popular for many years now, they are used to cover a multitude of dental problems and are very effective says a City of Leeds dentist. The problem with them though is that they are an irreversible dental procedure, once fitted they are with you for the life of the tooth. Veneers do discolour and are replaceable, but only with another veneer. The main problem is that the tooth is planned down to the thickness of the veneer and that enamel is lost forever. The new style veneer is called a Lumineer and it really is a breath of fresh air in dental procedures. It is made from a new formula that allows the makers to design them so they are super thin, yet they have lost no strength. They are so thin that no work is needed on the tooth to cement them on, and they hide as many sins as the conventional veneer. They are expected to last 20 years or so, as opposed to a veneer with a life span of around 5-15 years depending on the thickness and design. If new technology comes along in say 12 years time, your dentist can simply remove the Lumineer without any problems or loss of enamel. They can cover up misaligned teeth, discoloured teeth, cracked and chipped teeth and all in a session that can be done in your lunch hour. There is no pain or discomfort and they are usable straight away, the cost is also much cheaper than a normal veneer.
Lumineer’s are now the first choice for people, says a Leeds central dentist
Saturday, July 17th, 2010
A Lumineer’s is a veneer, plain and simple. However, it isn`t that simple and that fact makes it a brilliant choice for many people with teeth problems, says a Leeds central dentist. Discolouration is just one problem these unique ceramic veneers solve; they also cover gaps, chips, cracks and even misaligned teeth. Fitting them is a really easy process and requires little prep work by your dentist, one tooth or a whole row can be fitted in one sitting. Normal veneers are fitted by first having a lot of prep work; this was due to the thickness of the veneer which is made from ceramic clay. Depending on the type and thickness, the equivalent amount of enamel is required to be shaved off the tooth; this exposed part is then replaced with the veneer to bring it back up to its original thickness. They last for between 3-5 and 10-15 years depending on the type and thickness. That problem doesn’t exist with the Lumineer’s however; the formula used to make them allows the orthodontist to make them super thin like a veneer should be. The strength and method used to make them also allows them to keep their colour, and their longevity is also longer. The other property they have that makes them a good choice is that you can have them removed at any time in the future, and they will be just as they were originally. This allows you to have the choice in the future to try out new technology; with a normal veneer you can only replace them with another veneer.
