It is available in High Street beauty salons as opposed to the dental surgery; this also keeps down the fees. Provided you have fairly nice and healthy gums, the technician can proceed and the session lasts around an hour. You sit in a chair and have a gum shield fitted, this protects the soft flesh around and inside the mouth, a gel is applied to the teeth and an intense, warm blue light is shone on the teeth. This makes the gel agitate the enamel on your teeth, and it gives you that natural white shine and colour that you used to have. It will last for a year or so, and you will need to avoid drinks and food stuffs that contain damaging staining properties. Red wine, coffee, tea and some liqueurs are off the menu, but the sacrifice will be worth it when you look at your new smile in the mirror.
