The ins and outs of Enlighten

Enlighten is a whitening treatment that uses both at-home and in-chair methods. Treatment takes 15 days, with the first 14 days involving home treatment followed by a professional in-chair session on the 15th day.

We recommend Enlighten because it is tried and tested, the results are amazing and long-lasting and the procedure is safe and simple. This is the only treatment currently on the market that guarantees the lightest, brightest shade of white, B1.

The Enlighten treatment process

Enlighten treatment is simple and convenient. Before you start your treatment, we will ask you to pop into the clinic so that we can make an impression of your teeth, which will be used to create your bespoke whitening trays.

When your trays are ready, you will undergo 14 days of treatment at home. All you have to do is wear your trays for around 6-9 hours per day (most people prefer to wear theirs at night while they sleep) and you will start to notice that your teeth look lighter and whiter.

On the 15th day of your treatment, we invite you back to the clinic for a power whitening session, which lasts just one hour. During this procedure, whitening agent will be placed on the teeth and bright light will be used to activate it. How does home whitening work?

The whitening trays contain bleaching agent, which lightens the shade of the teeth when it comes into contact with the outer enamel shell. Home whitening is really simple and all you have to do is wear your bespoke whitening trays at home for 2 weeks. The trays are designed for you based on impressions of your teeth and they contain whitening gel, which lightens the shade of your teeth, giving you a whiter, brighter smile.

Usually, you start to notice the results after just a few days and by the end of the fortnight, your smile will look camera-ready in perfect time for the party season. We usually recommend wearing the trays for 6 hours per day.

What happens after whitening?

The results of your whitening treatment should last for years to come, but the longevity of treatment is heavily dependent on you and the lifestyle choices you make. Whiteness fades with time and there are certain factors that accelerate this process, including smoking, poor oral hygiene and food choices.
