Help for nervous patients in Leeds

352388_blogDoes your heart race at the thought of sitting in the waiting room of a dental surgery? Do you dread the whirring sound of the drill or feel anxious every time you think about the dental chair? If so, we have good news! If you suffer from dental anxiety or dental phobia, we can help. We use the latest techniques and treatments to make procedures as painless as possible and we also have training in caring for nervous patients. It’s understandable to feel anxious when you have to go to the dentist, but most of the time, there’s nothing to worry about and once you’ve had your check-up or your treatment, you will feel much better. Regular dental checks are hugely important and avoiding them will only increase the risk of problems like gum disease and cavities, so it’s best to try and prevent these from occurring in the first place. For nervous patients, sedation is a great option. Sedation is not general anaesthetic and patients are able to communicate with the dentist if they want to during the procedure; you won’t be unconscious, but you will feel really relaxed and you should feel no pain. If you dread dental treatment, you need a complex procedure or you are worried about having injections or being subjected to the dental drill, sedation could be an option; it doesn’t carry the risks of general anaesthetic and it will help to make you feel relaxed in the run-up to your appointment, as well as during the actual procedure.
