Some things can be very painful when they erupt in the mouth and canker sores can be among the worst in central Leeds. Yet is one of those things that there is a lot of mystery about. It is very difficult to work out what causes them; stress, acidic foods and the sharpness from braces or a chipped tooth are considered to be among some of the causes, but you’ll know when you get one and they can appear anywhere in the mouth- you may also suffer from a fever as well as the pain. They don’t often stay around for long, but they do re-offend and whilst in the mouth, they can be difficult to treat. You can buy soothing gels designed for cankers and ulcer; rinsing with salt water and a medicated mouthwash will also help to soothe them but generally you have to wait it out before they go. However, there is a danger if they hang around or even start to spread in the mouth. If this should happen, you should seek help from your dentist as soon as you can.
