What is a dental implant?

Dental implants are made from a titanium alloy and are fixed into your jawbone to replace the root of your tooth while supporting crowns or dentures. The procedure is painless and takes place under local anaesthetic. During the process a hole is made in your jawbone to perfectly accommodate the implant, then the implant is left to heal for up to 6 months.
